INCredible COFFEE is a café in Tokyo’s Koenji neighborhood that I kept wanting to return to—not only for the coffee, but for the people and everyday moments that give the place its character. For this self-initiated project, I drew the people I observed there and explored how those illustrations could live across the café’s brand touchpoints. Rather than proposing a new identity, the work offers a personal interpretation of the atmosphere already present: the small interactions, familiar faces, and sense of connection that make a café memorable. It is a study of how illustration can bring the human side of a place into its visual.
INCredible COFFEE는 도쿄 고엔지에 있는 카페로, 커피뿐 아니라 그곳만의 개성을 만드는 사람들과 일상의 순간들 때문에 자꾸 다시 찾고 싶었던 공간입니다. 개인적으로 기획한 이 프로젝트에서는 카페에서 관찰한 사람들을 그리고, 그 일러스트가 카페의 다양한 브랜드 접점에 어떻게 적용될 수 있을지 탐구했습니다. 새로운 아이덴티티를 제안하기보다는 작은 교류와 익숙한 얼굴들, 서로 연결되어 있다는 느낌처럼 카페를 기억에 남게 하는 기존의 분위기를 개인적인 시선으로 해석했습니다. 일러스트를 통해 공간에 담긴 사람들의 온기를 시각적으로 어떻게 표현할 수 있는지 살펴본 작업입니다.
